Man brutally beaten over prescription drug XanaX

Sat., Oct. 1 2011 at approximately 9:00 pm, Franklin County Deputies responded to the Emergency Room at Mercy Hospital in Washington for a report of an assault. When Deputies arrived they made contact a 46-year-old victim from Villa Ridge.  The victim had been severely beaten and was reportedly found by family members after being left unconscious in a ditch road side in the Villa Ridge area.

The victim was able to tell Deputies the names of one of his attackers and the first name of a second suspect.  He stated he was offered a ride and after getting in the vehicle with the suspects, they demanded his prescription of Xanax.

He refused to hand over his prescription; the male suspect in the truck attacked him and rendered him unconscious.  He stated he was left in a road ditch and when he awoke his prescription were gone.

The investigation led Deputies to a residence in Sullivan where two suspects were located.  The driver of the truck was a 31-year-old white female from Villa Ridge.  The other attacker was a 27-year-old male from Sullivan.

Deputies were able to locate the victim’s prescription as well as suspected methamphetamine.  Both suspects have been taken into custody.

The Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office issued felony charges of Robbery in the1st Degree and Assault in the1st Degree against the male suspect yesterday Oct., 2, 2011

The attacker has been identified as; Michael Hammonds; and is being held at the Franklin County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash bond.
