Mariah Williams and Curtis Kotthoff crowned 2012 Winter Ball King and Queen-Full story

New Haven, Mo.
– Friday night, between the junior varsity and varsity games, Mariah Williams and Curtis Kotthoff were crowned the 2012 Winter Ball King and Queen in front of a packed house.

The junior candidate and newly crowned Queen, Mariah Williams, is the daughter of Charisma and Marques Wright. Mariah is a member of the Pep Squad and Track and Field Team.

She enjoys hanging out with all of her wonderful friends, listening to Justin Bieber, and of course, loves shopping.  Mariah plans to pursue a career in special education, get married, and start a family in the future.

High school senior Curtis Kutthof, and newly crowned King, is the son of Chris and Jill Kotthoff.  During his time at New Haven High School, Curtis has been active in FBLA, National Honor Society, and FCA.

When Curtis is not busy with school he enjoys hunting, fishing, and “living the dream” with his friends. His favorite song is “What I Almost Was” by Eric Church.

After graduation Curtis plans to attend Linn State to earn a degree in heating and cooling.

The freshmen candidates were Stephanie Russo and Robbie Cichon. (Pictured right)

Stephanie is the daughter of Evie Krull and Michael Russo.  Stephanie plays volleyball and runs Track and Field.

In Stephanie’s free time she enjoys hanging out with friends, dancing, and watching her favorite movie “Titanic.

After graduation Stephanie plans to pursue a career as a detective and attend St. Louis University.

Robbie is the son of Sue and Scott Cichon.  He is a member of the Scholar Bowl Team, enjoys reading, and spending time with friends.  Robbie’s favorite movie is “Forest Gump.”

Robbie plans to earn a degree in Computer Hardware Engineering at Rolla School of Engineering.

Jenny Gallardo and Dominick Pataky were the sophomore candidates. (Pictured right)

Jenny is the daughter of Maria and Agustin Gallardo.  Jenny is a member of the cheerleading squad and yearbook staff.

In Jenny’s free time she loves shopping for shoes, dancing, and baking.  Her favorite food happens to be sushi.
After graduation Jenny would like to earn a degree in Fashion Merchandising.

Dominick is the son of Jaime and Thomas Pataky.  He is a two-year member of Cross-Country and will enter his second year of Track and Field later this spring.

Friday night Dominick attempted to set a new trend as he wore a pair of tennis shoes that were specifically purchased for the evening’s coronation.
His favorite movie is “Space Jam,” which may explain the reason behind having a “special” pair of shoes to wear.

After graduation he plans to attend college and make a lot of money.

Harley DeWalt was the junior candidate with Queen Mariah Williams. (Pictured right)

Harley is the son of Tad and Glenda Dewalt and is a member of the basketball team, FBLA, and FCA.

Some of Harley’s favorite things to do are riding his Harley Davidson, racing old dirt bikes, and working on his 1967 Ford Mustang with his grandpa.

Harley plans to attend college and earn a degree in sports medicine.

Taylor Goad was the senior candidate with King Curtis Kuthoff. (Pictured below)

Taylor is the daughter of Rita and Russell James.

Taylor has played volleyball all four years of high school and is in the Health-Occupations program.

Taylor plans to earn a doctorate degree in general dentistry at UMKC.

The Retiring King and Queen were Seth Schenck and Abby Klahn.

Abby is the daughter of Angela and Scott Klahn.  Abby is a senior and currently serves as president of FBLA.  She is involved in cheerleading, member of Student Council, and Marching Band.

Pcitured are the retiring Kings and Queen.

After graduation Abby plans to earn a degree in elementary education.

Seth is the son of Amy and Mike Schenck.  Seth is in his junior year of high school and has played basketball, cross country, and track and field all three years.  He is also a member of FBLA, FCA, National Honor Society, and scholar bowl.

Seth is unsure what his future holds but plans to be happy and very successful.

The flower girl and crown bearer for the evening were Maggie Hoener and Hayden Wolfe. (Pictured right)

Maggie is the daughter of Josh and Jaime Hoener.  Maggie is four years old and plans to be a “haircut girl” when she grows up.  Maggie enjoys playing with her babies, spending time with her cousin Greyson, and going to her babysitter, Shari’s house.  If Maggie could be anyone she’d be a big sister.

Hayden is the son of Erica and Kyle Wolfe.  Hayden is six years old and attends Our Lady of Lourdes in Washington, Mo.

Hayden enjoys playing baseball, basketball, and being outside with his little brother, Greyson.

When he grows up he plans to play baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals.  If he could be anyone, he’d be David Freese.
