New Haven's A-Kay Meyer crowned 2012 Franklin County Beef Queen

Washington, Mo. – Thursday evening A-Kay Meyer, daughter of Terry and Trina Meyer was crowned the 2012 Franklin County Beef Queen prior to the Washington Town and Country Market Steer Judging.

Twenty-year-old A-Kay Meyer graduated from Franklin County R-II and is a 2010 graduate of Washington High School.

During high school, Meyer was a member of the Marching Band, Key Club, Jaycrew, Adventure Crew, Health Occupations Students of America, Spanish Club, MU Alpha Theta, and National Honor Society.

Miss Meyer has been a member of New Haven’s 4-H Club since she was 13-years-old.  Throughout the past 17 years she has served as Assistant Reporter and was President for 4 years.

Meyer has shown steers for seven years at the Washington Town and Country Fair.

During those seven years, she was awarded the Showmanship Award.

She has also been very active at the New Haven Youth Fair volunteering her time by working at the food stands along with cleaning the fair grounds.

Meyer is currently attending Southwest Missouri State University where she plans to graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
