New Haven, Mo. – This morning City Administrator Steve Roth provided a statement update on the Miller Street construction project.

The Miller Street reconstruction work will enter the final phase this week, with the road hopefully being partially paved by Friday.

The contractor schedule is for the street excavation to begin Monday, with base preparation and asphalt paving to follow. The road will be closed to through traffic during most of the week.

The contractor hopes to complete the base asphalt courses by the end of the day on Friday. The final finish course is tentatively scheduled for next Monday, October 1.

Crews were beginning the road “tear-out” on the north end Monday morning. Work will progress south toward the Highway 100 intersection. Concrete crews meanwhile were working on the final concrete work near the highway intersection.

This week’s work is weather-dependent, with a chance of rain in the forecast for much of the week.
