— Gas prices in Missouri are dipping as the winter months move closer.

The latest average statewide is $3.25 a gallon for regular gasoline. Don Redman, a specialist with AAA, said the average price has dropped 36 cents in the last month, but not to expect them to continue falling.

“In the short term, now through the end of the year, we could see prices hovering at least where they are in the 3-25 range,” he said, adding that “some markets could be as cheap as three dollars a gallon.”

Redman said world uncertainty over the situation in the Middle East in the wake of the September 11th protests kept the price of crude oil higher than usual through the middle of September.
