New Haven, Mo. – Nearly one month (June 28) to the day when over 100 firefighters battled the blaze on Highway KK, New Haven/Berger Fire responded to that same location Friday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. for a report of smoke in the area.

When fire crews arrived a small area of debris had rekindled and was smoldering.  Fire crews easily doused the area with water, extinguishing the burning debris.

The reporting party who called 911 lives in the 200 block of Hereford Road, approximately two tenths of a mile from the scene.  She noticed a small amount of smoke coming from the area when she called 911.

The extreme dry conditions and gusty winds posed a dangerous threat of turning a small pile of debris burning into a large brush fire.
