New Haven gears up for districts with win over Montgomery County

--The Lady Shamrocks upended Montgomery County 10-3 to end a 13 game losing streak on Thursday.

New Haven scored three runs in the third and fourth innings and added three more in the fifth giving them a 9-3 lead.

Blair Bowers lead New Haven in hitting going 2-4 with on triple, scoring twice, and recorded one RBI.

Stephanie Scheer held the Lady Wildcats scoreless in the last three innings after giving up one run in the third and two in the fourth off five hits.

Carlie Steinbeck smashed her first career homerun with a game high three RBIs.

Brooke Kluba and Kierstin Monzyk both had two hits, each scoring once and batting in one run.

Ironically their win prior to Thursday night was Aug. 27 and Thur. was Sept. 27.  Maybe this means they will go on a month long winning streak.

New Haven will travel to Bourbon on Monday for their final regular season game before they begin district play on Wed. Oct 3.

The Class 1 District 8 Tournament will be held in Sturgeon, Mo.  New Haven is seeded 6th and will play the number three seed Clopton.  Game time is set for 6 p.m.
