James J. "Jim" Klott, 87, of Hermann, Mo, passed away on Thursday, May 10th, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Klott was born in Hermann, Mo on December 27, 1924, the son of the late William J. and Colette A. (Schneider) Klott.

Mr. Klott was the husband of Betty (Dutton) Klott. They were married October 8, 1949 in Labadie, Mo. She survives in Hermann.

James is also survived by a daughter Linda Klott-Brown & husband Roger of Villa Ridge, Missouri, two grandsons Aaron Brown of St. Louis and Cody Brown of Bella Vista, Arkansas, a sister Eleanor Heberle of Hermann, a brother Anthony Klott & wife Bonnie of Bowling Green, Missouri, a sister Joan Eckerle of New Haven, a sister Bernadette Overkamp & husband Norbert of Waukesha, Wisconsin, three sisters-in-law Peggy Klott of Hermann, Lillian Schultz and husband Herman of Labadie, Missouri and Julia Jones of Labadie, Missouri, and by nieces, nephews and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Dr. Mary Jane "Maria" Klott and two brothers Maurice & Leo Klott.

He was a member of Newport Presbyterian Church, Washington, Mo. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

James was an assistant foreman for Ralston Parina Research Farm in Gray Summit for 40 years. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, hunting, trout fishing, traveling & spending time with his family, attending his army reunions and piecing quilts together.

Visitation will be Sunday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Mo.

Funeral Services will be held at Newport Presbyterian Church, Washington, Mo. at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 14th, with Rev. John Allgaier officiating.
Burial at Newport Cemetery, Washington, Mo.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Franklin County Honor Flight or Newport Cemetery. C/O Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home.
