OBITUARY: HERMANN: Raymond H. "Pop" Meyer (January 27, 1922 - October 4, 2012)

Mr. Raymond H. "Pop" Meyer, 90, of Hermann, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Hermann Area District Hospital, Hermann, Mo.

Ray was born in Little Berger, Missouri on January 27, 1922, the son of the late Arthur J. and Mary W. (Ellerbrake) Meyer.

Ray proudly served his country in the US. Navy during WWII.

He was a farmer and lived in the Stople area until he retired and then moved to a small farm just outside Hermann, he later moved into Hermann.

Ray was a member of the Hermann United Methodist Church, the Hermann V. F. W. Post 4182, American Legion Post , Rhineland, and the Hermann Eagles.

Ray was united in marriage to Alice A. (nee Bohl) on May 18, 1946, Alice passed away April 27, 1985. On December 27, 1986 Ray was united in marriage to Mary A. Kolks (nee Bruckerhoff).

In January of 2012 Ray and Mary celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and Rays 90th birthday at the Valentine Hall in Rhineland with family and friends.

After Ray retired he enjoyed going to auctions and was a regular at the local bakery and Hardees. He enjoyed visiting the farm to make sure his son was doing things correctly, watching the St. Louis Cardinals baseball, playing pinochle, and traveling.

Ray is survived by his wife Mary, his children, Marlene Lionberger and husband Kenneth; Kevin Meyer and wife, Kathy; Stanley Meyer and wife, Debbie all of Hermann, by his step-children David Kolks and wife, Kim; Cindy Workman; Julie Jacobs all of Rhineland, and Carolyn Kolks of Clive, Iowa. By his grandchildren; Raylene Hollrah, Renee Agonis, Wally Lionberger, Jr., Kelly Leger, Krystal Nicholson, Kandice Meyer, Travis and Jeffrey Meyer, and his step-grandchildren; Jason and Erin Kolks, Drew Workman, Beth Epple, Ryan,Nicole and Desiree Jacobs.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8th from the Hermann United Methodist Church, Hermann, Mo. with Rev. Bob Seamon and Father Bill Debo officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday October 7th, 2012 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Mo.

Eagles services will be held Sunday at 7:45 p.m. followed by a V.F.W. Service.

Interment will be at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann, Mo.
