Murray Wright, 88, of New Haven, Mo. passed away on Sun., Jan. 29, 2012 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Mo.

Mr. Wright was born in Deer Creek, Missouri on July 17, 1923, the son of the late Jessie and Lillie (Howard) Wright.

He was the widower of LaVerne E. (Haid) Wright. They were married June 7, 1947. She passed away on January 10, 2006.

Murray proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart while protecting and defending the freedoms we enjoy today.

Murry was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, Missouri, the New Haven American Legion and the V.F.W. in Washington.

Mr. Wright was a barber and owned Murray's Barber Shop for many years.
Murray is survived by two grandsons Corey Grote & wife Monique of Washington and Tracy Grote of New Haven, two great grandchildren Macy & Lauren Grote, and two sisters-in-law Mildred Wright of Hermann and Charleen Haid of Berger.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers Raymond & Jessie Wright and a daughter Rayverne Grote.

Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, Mo.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, Mo. at 11:00 a.m. on Wed., Feb. 1st, with Rev. David Poe officiating.

Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Haven, Missouri.
Memorials may be given to New Haven American Legion or St. Peter's U.C.C. C/O Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home.
