Among the nearly 400 in attendance on May 10th was the Province Governor, John Martin Israel, Pi Zeta, from the PHI MU ALPHA SINFONIA Fraternity.
The PHI MU ALPHA is a fraternity for musical students with an objective in advancement of music in America.  PHI MU ALPHA SINFONIA has been a nationally organized fraternity since 1990 but was founded in 1889.

Israel, Governor for the Missouri province, came to present Carl Bounds one of the most prestige awards given by PHI MU ALPHA SINFONIA.

Israel presented the PHI MU ALPHA SINFONIA Orpheus Award to Bounds for his outstanding dedication as a music educator and a role model for all future educators in music.

This award is one of the most prestige awards any music educator could ever receive and yet another example of how blessed New Haven High School has been to have had Mr. Bounds as their music and band director.  His profound impact will forever be embedded in the Marching Shamrocks and concert band's history.
