Franklin County R-2 faced off rival New Haven in yesterday afternoon’s sixth grade consolation game in New Haven’s 5th and 6th grade boys tournament.

This friendly rival dates back to the days of Kyle Wolfe and Tim Scheer, best friends who went to different elementary schools.  That same combination of friends who play baseball together in the summertime or hang out when there’s a snow day during the school year or the fact that both schools have shared the same P.E. teacher for decades, Tim Scheer.

Yesterdays game the R-2 Huskies knocked off the Shamrocks 24-12.  R-2 came out in the first quarter scoring 10 points and holding New Haven scoreless.  The two teams battled it out to the finish neither team giving up.
