Rocks improve their times overall -- Grater shaves nearly one minute off his time

Linn Mo. – The Shamrocks came into Linn on Saturday after a first place finish at Vienna earlier in the week.  The Shamrocks finished sixth overall as a team, however each runner for the Rocks improved their times.

Coach John Tucker said, “It was an interesting meet, everyone ran better than they had at Vienna but finished two spots behind Vienna.” Coach Tucker was pleased with his team's overall performance but said, “we have to continue to improve, we need our number five and sixth runners to get their times closer to the 20 to 21 minute mark.

The Rocks lead runner Seth Schneck finished in fifth place and shaving 45 seconds off his previous time at Vienna.  Zach Grater ran nearly a minute faster on Saturday showing the most improvement on the team.  Grater finished 23rd overall followed by Dominick Rataky in 25th, Will Smith 47th, Zach Schwab 97th, and Raul Moreno in 104th.

In the JV race, Cole Lensing ran a time of 22:16 and finished 29th and followed by Brandon Carey in 40th.  This was their first 5k race.  Tucker said, “I was very pleased with how Lensing and Carey ran.  They both really competed well.”
