Owensville, Mo. – New Haven gears up for districts after Tuesday’s Four Rivers Conference Meet as Seth Schenck and Dominick Pataky both medal on the boys side and Fey Chavez in her first year of cross country finished 14th to make all-conference.

During Coach John Tucker’s coaching career at New Haven he has never had more than a few girls run cross country but this may be changing over the next few years.

The middle school teams has given Tucker a glimpse of what the future might hold. In particularly Abby Grater and Lucy Roth who both medal in Tuesday’s conference race.

Grater has finished in the top seven all year, finishing third and Roth running a career best to end the season and a tenth place as they wrapped up their season on Tuesday.  Overall the team took third place, 10 points behind St. Clair and Pacific.  Only time will tell what the future may hold.

Tucker said, “I was pleased with how we ran even though our times were slower than normal but that was because we raced on Saturday at Big Driver.  Even though Seth, Dominick, and Zach may have had better finishes…Big Driver will pay off at districts, which has been our focus.”

New Haven will get plenty of rest before districts.  The district meet is not until Oct. 27, which will be held at Linn where they ran earlier this year.
