New Haven, Mo – St. Clair handed New Haven their second straight loss Wednesday night, winning by seven runs. (9-2) New Haven committed five errors, giving second St. Clair six unearned runs.

New Haven’s Garret Schoenfeld began the game by giving up four runs in the first. Schoenfeld then pitched three scoreless innings until the fifth when the Rock’s defense had a major melt down.

With two outs and a runner on first, Ross Seitter fielded a routine ground ball and instead of throwing out the batter, confusion between Seitter and second baseman, Kyle Rueidger, gave the Bulldogs a free pass.

New Haven was given a second chance of ending the scoreless inning, however a second error committed by Seitter led to a two out double and St. Clair scoring four runs in fifth inning.

New Haven managed to score two runs, but was unable to recover from an 8-0 deficit.

Drew Schwentker went 1-2, with a leadoff double in the sixth inning and recorded New Haven’s only RBI.

Schoenfeld pitched a decent game, going seven innings, striking out six and giving up nine hits on just three earned runs.

New Haven will finish their regular season this evening vs Cuba before they begin district play tomorrow evening in St. Elizabeth, Mo.
