Shamrocks fall to Linn 12-1

New Haven, Mo – Friday night New Haven was handed their fourth loss of the season.  Linn’s starter, Dalton Wolfe, pitched six scoreless innings, racking up nine strikeouts, and holding New Haven to just three hits.

Ben Kallmeyer cruised through the first three innings, holding Linn to just one run on as many hits.  Kallmeyer ran into trouble in the fourth, after a leadoff base hit, followed by a walk.  Linn took advantage by scoring two runs and a 3-0 lead.

The Shamrocks hit the ball but unable to find an opening in Linn’s defense.  New Haven finished with five hits, scoring just one run.

Linn ended with 12 hits, scoring three runs each of the last four innings, upending New Haven 12-1.

Kallmeyer suffered his first loss of the year, going six innings and giving up a of nine runs (seven earned) on 10 hits.

New Haven continues their seven game home stand, taking on South Callaway on Mon., Pacific on Tues., and St. Clair on Thur.

Andrew Shwentker was solid at third base, making a diving catch in the top of the seventh, and was six for six on put outs.
