The rain did not hinder the excitement as three area businesses were inducted into the Gerald Chamber of Commerce tonight with a ceremonial ribbon cutting at each one.

Signs of All Kinds opened July 1, 2011 within Happily Everafter Boutique and Florist by Dawn Czeschin.  The business is located next door to the gas station and convenience store at #10 Fitzgerald Avenue.  As the name implies, Czeschin creates various signs including those for windows, vehicles, and real estate as well as banners and decals.  The company will soon offer t-shirts and screen-printing as well.  Signs of All Kinds can be reached at 573-764-2900 or by email at

The Gerald Area Library opened in 1995 as one of only three all-volunteer libraries in Missouri.  The library does not receive tax income or public funds, and has been completely stocked through donations and membership dues.  Earlier this year, the library opened Once Upon a Time Bookstore as a way to generate additional income.  The books are very reasonably priced and are in great condition.  Once Upon a Time is located at 357 South Main Street in Gerald and can be reached at 573-763-READ (7323).

Fitzgerald’s has lots to offer the community, featuring all of your favorite ice cream specialties, snacks, and sandwiches.  The menu includes cones, sundaes, shakes, malts, floats, pretzels, nachos, pizza, and more.  Fitzgerald’s is open 7 days a week, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.  Bring your family down, sit under the awning at the picnic tables, and enjoy some 50’s music and old fashioned delights.  Takeout orders may be placed by calling 636-388-5387.
