Slick highways sends one to the hospital

Fire and EMS crews work to extricate the driver from the vehicle onto a backboard.

New Haven, Mo – New Haven EMS, New Haven/Berger Fire, and New Haven Departments responded this evening at 7:09 p.m. to a motor vehicle accident at East Industrial Drive and Highway 100.

According to police, the tan midsize car was traveling eastbound on Highway 100 when the driver lost control.  The vehicle traveled off the roadway and into a wooded area along side the highway.

The driver of the vehicle was transported by New Haven EMS to Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo.  It is unknown what types of injuries the driver may have sustained.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The New Haven Police Department is working the accident to determine the exact cause.

The name of the individual has not been released at this time.
