- In that three way u.s. senate primary…Todd Akin has pulled to about a nine thousand vote lead over Sarah Steelman with John Brunner falling off the pace.. the winner faces incumbent democrat Claire McCaskill in November.

In the republican race for governor…St, Louis businessman Dave Spence has already picked up the endorsement of the republican governor’s association as he will win over Kansas City lawyer Bill Tandles. It will be spence against Jay Nixon in November.

In the race for lieutenant governor…incumbent Peter Kinder has now pulled ahead of state senator Brad Lager on the republican side now by about 1-thousand votes.

In that eight way democratic primary for Liuetenant Governor…former State Auditor Susan Montee looks like the winner with about 13 percent of the vote.

For Secretary of State on the republican side…this will be tight all night long as state representative Shane Schoeller of Willard has an 8-thousand vote lead over State Senator Bill Stouffer of Napton and more than an 18-thousand vote lead on senator Scott Rupp of St. Charles. the winner of the race will face democrat Jason Kander of Kansas City in the fall.

On the Attorney General’s race…republican Ed Martin will challenge incumbent Chris Koster this fall.

Elsewhwere in the fifth congressional republican race in Kansas City…a three way race led by state representative Jerry Nolte over Jacob Turk…Emmanuel Cleaver is th eincumbent there. and voters have voted in favor of the statewide ballot issue on public prayer with more than 82 percent of the vote in favor.
