New Haven, Mo - Yesterday morning The Missouri Sports Writers and Sports Casters Association (MSSA) announced the East Central All-District (Class 1, 2, & 3) Basketball Teams.

Sophomore Rachel Steinhoff and senior Kayla Oetterer were both unanimous selections to MSSA’s 1st Team and Elise McDonald was received 2nd Team honors.

Steinhoff can add MSSA 1st Team All-District to her long list of accomplishments this past season.  Steinhoff was also voted to MSSA’s 1st Team All-State as well as the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association 1st Team All-State.  Steinhoff was also a unanimous selection to the Four Rivers All-Conference Team.

Steinhoff played a key role in New Haven’s magical post-season run.  Steinhoff averaged 16 points per game in post-season play, scoring 19 points in the State Quarter Final and was a perfect seven of seven from the line leading New Haven into the Class 2 State Championship game.

After two seasons, Steinhoff has scored a career 653 points.  Steinhoff is on pace to top 1,000 career points towards the end of next year if she averages around 13 points per game.

Oetterer’s highlight on the season came in their second game, toping 1,000 career points.  Oetterer averaged 11 points per game and led the team in rebounds, averaging seven per game.  Oetterer ends her career with a total 1,358 points, only the fourth player to score over 1,000 career points.

Congratulations Rachel, Kayla, and Elise.
