This morning the city’s public works department finished up replacing the Thurman Street Bridge which connects to Morgan Street.  Julius Gatzemeyer said, “We removed the old bridge and replaced the drainage pipe that runs under the bridge.  We then rebuilt the bridge and today are adding a new curb and gutter.”

The previous bridge did not have much of a curb to it.  In fact, it was also difficult for a fire truck to make the turn from Morgan Street.  Because of the replacement and improvements, making a left turn from Morgan onto Thurman is much easier and a nice improvement for the city.
