Successful sobriety check point last Friday in Franklin County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Franklin County Sheriff's Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint last week on Fri., July 8, 2001 in Franklin County

During the five-hour operation, a total of 234 vehicles were checked with a total of 20 arrests being made and 48 warnings being issued.  Of those, seven summonses were written for other moving and non-moving violations, including seat belt and child restraint violations. Two summonses were written for driver license violations and two for insurance violations. In addition, five subjects were arrested for DWI, including one additional felony arrest for drug possession and three misdemeanor warrant arrests.

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C said, "This was another successful checkpoint, and we would like to thank every person involved, especially members of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.”
