Union, Mo. - Wednesday morning at 11:41 a.m. 16-year-old Vandalia Boehmer totaled her car while traveling on Route AJ when she lost control of her 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada.

According to the MSHP, Boehmer lost control and traveled off the right side of the roadway.  In an attempt to regain control, she over corrected, crossing the roadway and running off the left side.  Boehmer then smashed into the side of a bluff causing her car to overturn.

Boehmer was transported to Mercy Hospital by Union EMS with minor injuries, however an accident of this magnitude could have had a different outcome if Boehmer had not been wearing her seatbelt.
