On August 2, 2011, a resident in the 400 block of Perkins Road outside of St. Clair, Mo., reported a burglary had occurred at their home when they noticed the garage door was detached.

The unknown suspects took numerous items from the home that included:  power tools, gym equipment, and hunting gear. At the time, there were no suspects; however, evidence was recovered at the scene that required further examination and processing.

On August 15, 2011, the same resident called the Sheriff's Office to report a second burglary had occurred at the residence. During this investigation, Deputies were able to locate unique footprints left behind by one of the suspects involved in the burglary.

During a subsequent neighborhood canvas, Deputies were able locate similar footprints at a residence in the 500 block of Perkins Road. They were also able to observe a bicycle in plain view that had been stolen from the victim's residence.

Further investigation at this residence yielded the recovery of a significant amount of the stolen property; as well as the arrest of a 16-year-old juvenile who admitted his involvement in the crime.  This investigation led Deputies to the 700 block of Perkins Road as well as to a residence in the City of St. Clair where the other involved suspects and stolen property were located.

Deputies arrested a 15-year-old male juvenile and 17-year-old adult male as a result of their investigation.  Both of the juveniles were turned over to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center and the 17-year-old subject is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail pending application of warrants.  There is no indication of additional victims or property at this time.
