Two local ladies to compete for title of Miss Missouri State Fair

Cassandra Jo Aholt, Union, and Trina Stumpe, Leslie have travelled to Sedalia to compete in the Miss Missouri State Fair Queen Pageant today and tomorrow.

Aholt is the 17 year old daughter of Greg and Joann Aholt of Union.  She is representing the Franklin County Fair.  She was crowned Miss Franklin County on July 5 in Union at the Franklin County Fair.  Aholt is a 2012 graduate of Abiding Love Academy and is currently attending East Central College, majoring in Health Sciences.  She hopes to transfer to the University of Missouri, Columbia to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Large Animal Veterinarian Science.

Stumpe is the 19 year old daughter of Kevin and Barb Stumpe of Leslie.  She is representing the Meramec Community Fair.  She was crowned Miss Meramec on June 21 in Sullivan at the Meramec Community Fair.  Stumpe is a 2011 graduate of Sullivan High School and is currently attending the University of Missouri, Columbia majoring in Agribusiness Management.  Stumpe was also crowned Miss Franklin County in 2010 and earned the title of 2nd Runner Up at the Miss Missouri State Fair Queen Pageant in August of 2010.

These two outstanding young ladies will compete against approximately 60 other contestants for the title of Miss Missouri State Fair.  Beginning at 8:30 a.m. today, the contestants will compete in the Interview portion of the pageant.  From there they will get ready for the Speech and Talent competition which begins at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon and goes through 6:00 p.m. this evening.  Tomorrow morning, the contestants will have a guided tour through the fairgrounds, and then compete in their final round, the Evening Gown Competition beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Awards and crowning will follow.
