UPDATE: Vehicle smokes Hilltop sign - Crashes into the side of Home Oil

12/16/11- According to Assistant Chief Dan Terry, the suspect has been identified as Christopher M. Warren, age 30, from New Haven, Mo.

New Haven, Mo - Early Fri. morning at approximately 1:20 a.m. a black 1984 Chevrolet pick-up truck was driving west on highway 100 and was seen crossing the centerline.  The vehicle then traveled off the highway, blasting through the Buck’s Hilltop sign that sits across from Maupin Street.

After demolishing the sign, the truck finally came to a stop, crashing into the side of Home Oil, causing damage to the building.

Sgt. Meg Parks and Officer Rob Kuhlmann responded to the scene of the accident.  The driver was given standard field sobriety tests, which the driver failed.

The driver was then taken to the New Haven Police station where a blood alcohol test indicated he was intoxicated.

Names are withheld pending charges. No one was injured in the accident.
