On Sun., Aug. 28, around 1:00 a.m., New Haven Police Officers responded to a residence in the Circle Drive Apartment complex in reference to an open 911-phone line.  Dispatchers told officers they could hear screaming and a child crying over the open line.

Sergeant Meg Parks and Officer David Burke responded.  Upon their arrival they observed a broken cell phone and camera lying outside the apartment. The door was answered by whom they believed to be an intoxicated subject.  They could also see there was evidence of a struggle.  They then noticed a female lying on the floor moaning and requested for EMS to respond to the scene.

New Haven EMS personnel then transported the victim to the hospital. The male admitted to choking the victim, and had broken open the locked bedroom door.  The fight began over their relationship ending.

Officers arrested Nathan P. Weiser of New Haven.  He was later charged with Domestic Violence in the 2nd degree and is being held at Franklin County on bond.
