BREAKING NEWS: New information released on Fidelity armed robbery - Clerk held at gunpoint

New Haven, Mo. – Wednesday morning New Haven officers continue their investigation into last night’s armed robbery that took place at Fidelity located on Circle Drive. 

This morning the New Haven Police Department released an official statement that includes new information regarding Tuesday night’s robbery.

After interviewing several witnesses officers have obtained a slightly more detailed description of the subject.

Assistant Police Chief Dan Terry said, “We believe the subject to be a thin male, unknown race, between 5’5 and 5’8, wearing a black mask, black or dark gray hooded sweatshirt, gloves and dark clothes.

According to officials a male subject entered Fidelity demanding cash while holding a clerk at gunpoint. The subject then fled around the building. The exact direction is unknown at this time.  Names will not be released in an effort to protect the privacy of the victims.

New Haven officers along with deputies from Franklin County were able to recover evidence while searching the area.

Assistant Police Chief Dan Terry said, “Our officers immediately began searching the area where the subject was reported to have fled too.  Franklin County Deputies assisted in searching the area for any possible evidence.  At the same time we placed Citizens Bank on lockdown along with both the Elementary and High Schools.”

Terry said, “At this point in our investigation we are following up numerous leads that we had received last night and additional leads we continue to receive this morning.”

New Haven Police Chief John Sheible said, “Over the past several weeks neighboring towns have seen a spike in armed robberies.  With the state of our economy some people are becoming desperate.  Please be vigilant and remember to always lock your homes and cars.”

--New Haven Police are asking for your help regarding an armed robbery that took place at Fidelity located on Circle Drive between 4:15 and 4:30 Tuesday night.

Assistant Police Chief Dan Terry said they are looking for a male subject, thin built, between 5’5 and 5’8.  Male subject was wearing a dark colored hoody that zipped up and a bandana covering his face.  The age or race is unknown at this time.

The male subject was last seen behind Fidelity possibly headed towards Maupin Street or Highway 100.  Anyone who may have seen anything between 4:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. are urged to call 911 with any information you may have.

Update: 8:30 p.m.

New Have Police officers continue their investigation after this evenings armed robbery at Fidelity.

Police Chief Dan Terry said, "Right now our officers are working on following up  leads from people who claim to have seen someone matching the description of the subject."
